Tris was born in Northridge, CA in November 1987. We brought him home on Thanksgiving. He was a very curious young boy and grabbed every opportunity to make people laugh or smile. He loved when his Mom read to him from "Where the Wild Things Are."
He loved to explore and when he had something exciting to tell you he would flap his arms, his eyes would get real wide and he would get right in your face and say "Listen to this and hear this!" He was a blast. He loved fishing with Dad and camping with the family. He was so proud of his little Sister when, at 12 years old, she reeled in a 7 lb. bass. It was almost stronger than her.
As he entered his teens he loved skateboarding and growing vegetables with his Mom and Maternal Gramma. He loved to draw and wanted to be a tattoo artist. He shared his love of art with everyone. His Paternal Gramma and he would sit and share their drawings for hours. He had an older Sister who is due to have her second daughter, and two younger Sisters who cracked each other up all the time. He also had a younger brother who shared his love of music and shared songs all the time. He was a wonderful Uncle and his young niece has such a true faith in God that it has been her strength.
The last year of his life he began to experience mental illness and in spite of the help we got for him, on March 12, 2014 he could no longer deal with the pain and took his own life. He left behind a family and friends who loved him deeply and will forever miss him. We greatly appreciate the support from everyone and ask that in lieu of flowers or if you would just like to help, please make a donation in Tristan King's name to NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness).
No family should ever suffer the loss of a child to suicide. "Ride On, Tris....Ride On." You were a bright bright light in our lives. We love you so much Son. -Mom & Dad
Beautiful to see a father and mother's love for their son to unite and support an organization here to help those struggling on the inside.
Merry Christmas. Moving the leaf up the tree. Lurve.
